On Saturday, 25th January 2025, the Earl of Dartmouth Lodge No. 3279 celebrated its 464th Regular Meeting with the installation of its 118th Worshipful Master, W.Bro Ian Joseph. This significant occasion, enriched with history and tradition, was made even more memorable by the unique setting and festivities that followed.
A Special Dispensation
Thanks to a special dispensation, the Lodge held this notable meeting at the Upminster Masonic Hall, a departure from its usual venue at the iconic Freemasons’ Hall in London. This change allowed the Brethren to gather in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable evening.
An Impressive Gathering
The meeting saw an exceptional turnout, with over 20 visitors of various Masonic ranks joining the members of the Lodge. The presence of so many visitors was a testament to the strong bonds of fraternity that Earl of Dartmouth Lodge continues to foster. The visitors were warmly welcomed, and their support added to the significance of the occasion.
The Installation Ceremony
The installation ceremony itself was conducted with precision, reverence, and the dignity befitting such an event. The Brethren witnessed the outgoing Worshipful Master pass the mantle of leadership to the new Worshipful Master, ensuring the Lodge remains in capable hands. A Burns Night Celebration
Following the formal proceedings, the Brethren and their guests enjoyed a Burns Night-themed Festive Board. This delightful celebration paid homage to Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, combining Masonic fellowship with the warmth and camaraderie of this cherished tradition. The evening featured a traditional Burns supper, complete with haggis, neeps, and tatties, accompanied by the stirring sounds of bagpipes.
The toasts and speeches were delivered with eloquence, and the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns was observed with great enthusiasm. The Festive Board served as a perfect conclusion to a day filled with ceremony, fellowship, and joy.
