Saturday 18th March 2023 was the date for our 457th regular meeting and it proved to be a truely enjoyable day for all. The thriving nature of the Lodge led to completing another ‘double’ whereby Bro. Bradley King was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason and a new candidate was balloted for, approved and initiated in to the Earl of Dartmouth Lodge.
We were honoured to receive some special visitors to this meeting, including Brethren from the Scottish Constitution. Pictured is our Master W.Bro Ian Graham breathing a sigh of relief together with RWM Craig Allison (Lodge of Old Aberdeen 164) & Bro Willie Bledge (Lodge Prince of Wales 426).
The first main item on the agenda was for the Worshipful Master to invest Bro Sam Goodsell as Inner Guard having appointed him at the previous (Installation) meeting in Janurary. You can read about this here.
The lodge were honoured by the presence of our Met Grand Inspector, W.Bro Jonathan Randall PJGD together with his DC, W.Bro Nicoló Perari LGR. The brethren formed a procession to welcome W.Bro Randall who took his rightful place next to the WM. The brethren greeted our MetGI with 5 and he acknowledged the salutations greeting us well.
The hard work at Lodge of Instruction and the hours of private preparation was brilliantly displayed when raising Bro. Bradley. The neccessary questions were put to him and he provided his answers without fault. The rest of the ceremony was presented with diligence, passion and feeling.
The Lodge was then called off for a short time before a sucessful ballot was held for a new initiate to the Earl of Dartmouth Lodge No. 3279 and that candidate was then initiated into Freemasonry. The Worpshipful Master completed this ceremony in spectacular fashion with the First Degree Charge being complimented in particular by our visiting Met Grand Inspector.
The other regular business was completed before retiring back to the Double Tree Hilton on Southampton Row for a fantastic Festive Board. Particular thanks must be passed to Bro Ian Joseph for working so hard to make this part of the day so enjoyable. The Bretheren then retired to a nearby watering hole for a few more libations before calling it a night.
Many thanks again for all those who made it to this meeting. It was a wonderful turn out considering the travel complications due to industrial action.
